Dr. Malin's Class Offerings at the Las Vegas Institutefor Advanced Dental Studies (LVI)
The following classes are scheduled at LVI in the next 12 months (all in 2009): Implant I 2009 Jan 26-28 Implant II 2009 March 4-6 Implant I 2009 June 3-5 Implant II 2009 August 5-7 Implant 1 is an introductory class that delivers state-of-the-art education which will enable the clinician to gain knowledge and confidence in dental implant treatment planning using Virtual Treatment Planning software, patient work-ups, and basic to advanced surgical and restorative techniques. This course offers a unique approach in that the treatment plan is derived from the occlusion down to the bone, and not from the bone up to the occlusion. After completing this course dentists will gain the confidence in an implant protocol that allows them to control the placement of implants through their own surgical procedures or through the use of another surgeon. This exact placement protocol will allow each implant placement to be predictable with easier restorations along with long-term clinical success. During this hands-on course, dentists learn how to use virtual treatment planning software to create surgical stents for implant placements, perform hands-on implant placement on models created by the software , learn the latest restorative principles and observe three different live implant placements. This class is all about control. Controlling the placement of implants through the creation of surgical stents which can be used by the GP to place their own implants, or used by a surgeon. Implant 2. is an advanced class that offers bone grafting and sinus lifting protocols along with other more advanced aspects of treatment planning relative to implant cases. Each class participant is required bring a live patient to this course and will treatment plan and place an implant using virtual treatment planning software to create surgical stents and the surgical protocol acquired during this class. Study models are required to be sent to NIS at least one month before the start of the class. Previous to the start of class, each dentist will send impressions, x-rays and photographs of their patient to Dr. Malin for preliminary approval of the patient for this class. Each patient is required to present themselves 8:00 to 10:00 for CT scans the first day of the class with a scanning device in place (prepared from the study models previously sent). Each dentist will be able to clinically experience many surgeries during this class. |
